Zandomenego Handcrafts Wearable Pieces of Sculptural Art
Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, Cristina Zandomenego has lived a life filled with nature and beauty surrounded by the mountains and the Atlantic Ocean.
These environments inspire Cristina and provide the underlying theme behind her designs: that every piece of jewelry must have movement.
Cristina’s passion for art is a trait she inherited from her mother and grandmother. While creating art of all mediums has been in her family for generations, Christina found her calling in designing and making her own handcrafted jewelry.
She left Venezuela to obtain a BA in Fine Arts from Rollins College in Orlando. Cristina continued her education in jewelry design and fabrication by attending intensive workshops at renowned jewelry schools through the nation.
Today, she applies her education in her work by giving her pieces a sculptural and three-dimensional sense. She combines a variety of metals, fresh water pearls and semi-precious stones to create unique wearable pieces of sculptural art.
Cristina handcrafts all of her pieces in the Zandomenego Collection – from design to finished product. The fabrication of each one is her own creation, and no two pieces will ever be the same.
The Zandomenego Collection can be found weekly at the St. Augustine Farmers Market. Her pieces are also sold locally at Silver Creek Jewelry and Nature Gifts on Saint George Street.
