Rype and Readi Fills Your Plate and Delights your Palate

Located in St. Augustine’s historic Lincolnville, Rype & Readi Downtown Farm Market provides for area residents, local chefs – as well as those who aspire to be – and truly anyone who enjoys high quality, locally-sourced food.

Upon arrival at the Riberia Street location, visitors are immediately transported to a European village marketplace filled with an array of fresh, locally-grown and organic vegetables you might be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. Each season brings its own specialties to the market: strawberries, cherries and asparagus in spring and early summer; blueberries and melons later in the summer; mushrooms, apples and pears in autumn; and oranges, nuts and root vegetables in the winter.

By working with all types of local farms, Rype & Readi is able to offer an expanded line of products in one convenient marketplace. Beyond produce, the market features cheeses and yogurts from local dairy farms, artisanal breads, homemade fruit and ice cream shakes and specialty items such as honey crystals and extracts.

In addition to working with local farmers, Rype & Readi collaborates with local chefs and food and beverage experts to awaken your taste buds with unique, locally-sourced culinary products. The Rype and Readi line includes provisions such as candied jalapenos, pickled veggies and jarred goods, creamy dressings, buttermilk biscuit mix, purple sweet potato pie, honey-bourbon simple syrup as well as daily prepared meals. Of course, the market offers other local products as well, such as frozen treats from The Hyppo, vinegar shrubs from Dog Day Gardens, loose leaf teas and culinary spice blends from Cultivate Tea and Spice Co.

But Rype & Readi is much more than a market, it’s a part of St. Augustine’s history. Throughout the last 100 plus years, the market’s location has served as a transfer station, a stagecoach garage and horse stables. Owner Jean-Sebastien Gros has preserved many of these elements in his market creating a warm and inviting ambience and a truly unique shopping destination.

The market provides an experience for the whole family. The kids will love meeting Hershey, Cocoa, Caramel, Coffee, (the resident sheep), the loving pup Luc, aka Scruff, the goats, Gomez and Bailey, Ducky and the brood of chickens.
